Welcome to the Dale County School System and the 2008-2009 school year. I hope you share my excitement for beginning this school year because it means another opportunity for us to provide quality educational experiences for the students of Dale County. Our Dale County Board Members, Mr. Braxton Bell, Mrs. Fronnie Culverhouse, Mr. Larry Ezell, Mr. Bill McSween, and Mr. Don Williams, extend their best wishes for a great school year to all of our students, parents, employees, volunteers, and community friends.

The Dale County School System consists of seven schools. There are three elementary schools, one middle school, one k-12 unit school, one 7-12 high school, and one 9-12 high school. Enrollment throughout the county school exceeds 2,900 students. The school system proudly offers a variety of educational opportunities for all students. It is our desire for all students to be educated to the highest level of their potential and to be inspired to value learning.

All of our teachers, administrators, and staff members want this to be your child's best year in school. Please help by encouraging your child daily, visiting our schools, and getting to know your child's teacher(s). In order for your child to be successful and for us to have a great system, we must have the involvement and support of our parents and our communities.

As your superintendent of Education, I pledge to maintain high standards of excellence and an overall safe and clean school environment in the Dale County Schools. I will remain committed to the continuation of our pursuit for the highest levels of achievement in academics, athletics, fine arts, and all other areas included in our school programs. Again I welcome you to our school family and to the 2008-2009 school year and challenge you to take advantage of every opportunity provided by our schools.
